Alphond Mary Timm, 97, of Newton and formerly of Baxter, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Visitation for Alphond will be held on Wednesday, October 26from 5-7 p.m. at the Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 27at the United Congregational Church of Christ in Baxter at 2 p.m. with Pastor Rollin Watters and Chaplin Dennis Coe officiating. A private family burial will be held in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter. Alphond was born on November 19, 1913 to Arthur and Elizabeth (Gauch) Kimberley in Maxwell, Iowa. She graduated from Guernsey High School in 1932. Alphond married Raymond Frederick Timm on February 19, 1933 in Victor, Iowa. In 1939 they moved to Baxter where they raised their family together. She was a dedicated homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She was active in the church, Women's Fellowship, attended Consistory meetings, and annual conferences. Alphond enjoyed family gatherings and tea parties. She also appreciated canning, planting flowers and collecting lady bugs, angels, and butterflies. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children, Randall (Linda) Timm and Mari (Rodney) Rederus; her grandchildren, Marijo (Bruce) Wilbur, Karen Reid, Karl (Robin) Tanke, Jodi (Douglas) Vansice, Lisa (Alan) DeJong, Michele (Christopher) Dahl, Jill (Quinten) Gearhart, Teresa (Grover) Meredith, Mari Anne (Tim) Hays, Luke Rederus, and Jenna Rederus; 15 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband,daughter Karel,brother Wyatt,sister Nettye, andson-in-law Keith Tanke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Skiff Medical Center Foundation or Mercy Medical Center Foundation. Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter has been entrusted with the care of Alphond and her family.
