Ann Vernie Hoit Madsen, 78, died on March 29, 2018 at the Urbandale Health Care Center. Ann was born as a triplet December 28, 1939 to Howard and Clara (Phelps) Hoit in Bayard. She was a homemaker and lived in Bayard until moving to Des Moines in 2008. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Arnold Hoit, Norris Hoit, and Daisy Wetzel. She is survived by her daughters, Christine Madsen (Jim) of Minneapolis, MN, Carla Madson (Mike) of Des Moines, IA; and son, Carl Madsen (Stephanie) of Grand Marais, MN. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Highland Cemetery, south of Bayard, with a reception held in the United Methodist Church basement which has a ramp for accessibility, following.
