Bethany "Beth" Sue Dodds, 71 of Zearing passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown, Iowa. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. Beth was born in Eldora, Iowa to Franklin and Mildred (Clatterbuck) Johnston. She attended Nesco High School and graduated in 1962. She attended DMCC and earned her registered nursing license in 1989. Beth worked in various nursing homes along her career but retired from Colonial Manor Nursing Home. She loved spending time with her family, enjoying conversations in the Zearing Heritage Room, genealogy, singing silly songs and always having a song for every occasion, cooking, and offering her quick whited comments to those who would listen. Those left to cherish her memories are her children Colonel Thomas (Dona) Dodds, Kyla Fisher, Michael (Jennifer) Dodds, Katie (Dan) Murray; 11 grandchildren Jade, Sierra, Bailey, Montana, Sofia, Hannah, Lukas, Doug, Klara, Aloria, and Isaak; 1 great-grandson Jax; sister Judi (Terry) Nessa; brother Bruce (Lyn) Johnston; sister-in-law Joyce Johnston; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Beth was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Jeff. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Beth Dodds Memorial Fund and mailed to Kyla Fisher, 219 SW 3rd, Ogden, Iowa, 50212 Fredregill Funeral Home, in Zearing, has been entrusted with the care of Beth and her family.
