Obituary

Bill Jones 61, of Zearing, Iowa passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at his residence in Zearing after a lengthy illness. Visitation will be on Wednesday July 9, 2014 from 10-11 A.M. at the Dakins Community Center in Zearing. Memorial services will immediately follow the visitation and will begin at 11 AM with Father Rick Dagit officiating. Bill was born on July 6, 1952 in Eldora, Iowa to Wayne and Delores (Carmody) Jones. He was raised in the Zearing area. He received his education from Zearing N.E.S.C.O. School District. After high school Bill went to work for Marshall Pack in Marshalltown. After Marshall Pack closed Bill went to work for Uncle B's Bagels and finally worked at the Iowa Veteran's Home in Marshalltown. Bill enjoyed his life with listening to music, helping his Dad on the farm, being outdoors, fishing, watching westerns on T.V., and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes, co-owning Poor Boy's Bar, card games with lots of laughter and jokes. Those left to cherish Bill's memories are his mother Delores Jones of Zearing; 2 sisters Jeanie Bigelow of Marshalltown, Iowa, and Becky Jones of Nevada, Iowa; sister-in-law Marla Jones of Legrand, Iowa; 4 nieces Kelley Kabrick of Beaman, Iowa, Holly Leslie of Oxford Junction, Iowa, Nicole Smith of Prairie City, Iowa, Katie Jones of Grinnell, Iowa; 2 nephews Jim Sundquist of Ames, Iowa, Kyle Jones of Story City, Iowa; and 12 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; 2 brothers Bob and Dean; grandparents; and his aunts and uncles. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Bill Jones memorial fund that has been established. Fredregill Funeral Home in Zearing was entrusted with the care of Bill and his family.
