Bonnie M. Hardy 82 of Gilbert, Iowa passed away at Mary Greely Hospital surrounded by her loving family on Friday November 16th. Bonnie was born on the farmstead in Jasper County, near Ira on February, 24 1936 to Carl and Nora Rankin. Bonnie completed the 8th grade at Mitchellville. She moved to St. Louis Mo. Where she worked as a House Mother in a children's home while attending cosmetology school. After completing cosmetology school, she worked as a beautician. Bonnie met her husband, Billy while living in St. Louis. They had 1 child, Ralph. They relocated to the Collins area where Bonnie cooked for the Neveda Hospital and primarily was a homemaker. Bonnie and Billy bought a home in Colo in 1976 where they lived for many years, and Bonnie moved to Gilbert with her dear friend Ed Caruth. Bonnie loved being with family and friends, country music and games of all kinds. Her hobbies were crocheting, playing country music and she enjoyed learning new things. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her son Ralph (Mischelle) Hardy, grandchildren Jessica (Troy) Knutson, Elyse (Justen) Schroeder, Jasmine Birt, Miranda (Lowell) Austin and Noah Hardy, 7 great grandchildren, sister Neva (Norman) Hampton, Brother Bill Rankin, Sherrie (Brain) Hassebrock and Ed Caruth's family. Bonnie was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Billy, 9 siblings and dear friend Ed Caruth.
