Chad James Novinger, 40, of Collins, Iowa passed away unexpectedly in Collins, on Thursday, November 21, 2019. A private family memorial service and burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Collins will take place at a later date. Chad was born in Marshalltown, Iowa on December 4,1978 to Jim and Sharon (Bartik) Novinger. He grew up in Collins and graduated high school from Collins Maxwell with the class of 1997. Chad was an athlete and played many sports while in school. Following high school, he attended DMACC where he earned an associate's degree in auto body. Chad worked with his parents operating the farm for many years. He also owned his own body repair shop and semi. He was a member of the MPG Club. Chad enjoyed restoring equipment, boating, skiing, truck pulls, and recently was taking flying lessons to earn his pilot license. Those left to cherish his loving memory are his son Brecken Novinger; Brecken's mother Autumn Gibbs; father Jim Novinger; siblings Jennifer Novinger, Jamie (Shawn) Golly, and Jace (Cassie) Novinger; nieces and nephews Colton, Cayden, Tailor, Reagyn, Madisyn, Courtney, and Maleah; aunt Sue Bartik; many cousins and close friends. He was preceded in death by his mom Sharon, grandparents Frank and Eula Maude Novinger, and Tony and Minnie Loo Bartik.
