Eugene E. Trotter was born August 1, 1932 in Newton, Iowa to Arthur and Mildred (Karns) Trotter. He attended school in Newton, then joined the Marine Corp in 1951 to serve in the Korean War. On August 31, 1956, after a short courtship, Eugene married the love of his life Carol (Cool) in Baxter, Iowa. He was self employed owning GT Siding and Replacement Windows. He was a hard working, loving husband, father, and friend that will be missed greatly. He was a lifetime member the VFW, Newton American Legion Post 111, and a founding member at the E Free Church. Eugene passed away August 5, 2009, while under the care of Hospice of Jasper County, in Newton, due to complications from leukemia. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Carol Trotter of Baxter; four daughters; Christina (Mike) Trotter of Newton, Linda (Dan) Allan of Baxter, Debbie (Bill) Gipe of Baxter, Pam (Fred) Roush of Baxter; grandchildren, Michelle (Eduardo) Alvardo, Jeremy (Stacy) Rhone, Nichole and Danielle Allan, Emily and Nathan Gipe, Amanda and Jacob Roush; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Art (Dorthy) Trotter of Newton, Bob (Phyllis) Trotter of Newton; along with his many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. The family would like to express a special thank you to the devoted staff at the Hospice of Jasper County. A golden heart stopped beating hard working hands at rest God broke our hearts to prove us he only takes the best.
