Herman G. Kutz, 90, of Ankeny, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines. Per Herman's wishes his body was donated to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinic's Deeded Body Program. Private family services will be held at a later date. Herman Gustav Kutz was born to Karl and Martha (Beltz) Kutz in Cummings, North Dakota on October 27, 1921. After school Herman worked the family farm alongside his father and brother. He relocated to Central Iowa and married Helen Harkin. Herman was one of those men who could truly fix anything. He was also an avid bowler. Those left to remember Herman's legacy are his son, Herman R. (Laura) Kutz; his grandchildren, Dustin Kutz, Nile Kutz, and Benjamin Kutz; many nieces; nephews; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Helen. Memorial contributions may be made in Herman's honor to Hope Ministries in Des Moines, or Boys Town in Nebraska.
