Jane Arlene Frohwein, 93, of Zearing, passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at her home in Zearing, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 5 -8 p.m. at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Hubbard, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church with Pastor Matthew Rueger officiating. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing, Iowa. Jane was born on the family farm near Hubbard, Iowa on November 10, 1923 to Oscar and Alma (Mork) Ritland. She was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church, Garden City, Ia. Jane graduated Radcliffe High School in 1941. After school she earned her teaching certificate. On June 1, 1941 Jane married the love of her life Glen Frohwein. The couple farmed near Zearing and moved to town in 1973. Through the years they have owned and operated several businesses. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hubbard, Ia. Jane enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, sewing, fishing, and seeing all of her grandkids. She always put her kids and grandkids first. Everyone enjoyed Grandma's baking, especially her homemade butterscotch pie but they hated those naps she made them take when they stayed. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children Larry Frohwein of Ankeny, IA, Duane (Joyce) Frohwein of Hubbard, IA, Joyce (Mike) Haws of Ankeny, IA, Judy (Kirk) Cheville, Keith (Elsie) Frohwein, Curtis (Beth) Frohwein, and Kevin (Linda) Frohwein all of Zearing, IA; grandchildren Bruce (Gayla) Frohwein, Brenda (Kevin) Cummer, Theresa (Mark) Peterson, David (Kristi) Frohwein, Kristin (Rory) Spindler, Darren Frohwein, Dan (Jill) Frohwein, Rod (Lisa) Haws, Jim (Shelly) Haws, Deborah Haws, Jodi Haws, Jon Cheville, Brandon (Jo) Frohwein, Todd (Tara) Frohwein, Dennis (Callie) Frohwein, April (Steven) Watson, Nathan (Kate) Frohwein, Katie (Jason) Erickson, Sarah (Keith) Olson, Heidi DeNio, Hope (Wes) Kix, and Barrett (Valerie) Frohwein; 54 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Floyd (Doris) Ritland, and Roy (Marjorie) Ritland, sisters Opal Nelson, and Erma (Harold) Blome, sister-in-laws Doris Ritland, Arlene Bauer, and Bernice Eggers; daughter-in-law Jan Frohwein; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jane was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, son Gerald, grandson Douglas, granddaughter Audrey, brother Irvin, daughter-in-law Pauline, and brother-in-law Raymond Nelson. Fredregill Funeral Home, in Zearing, has been entrusted with the care of Jane and her family.
