Karen Ann (Dingman) Reynolds, 79 of Malvern, IA, passed away at her home on April 25, 2026, comforted by her loved ones.
A Memorial Brunch will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at The Gathering Place, 110 S Vine Street, in Glenwood. Private Family Graveside Service will be held in the Decatur City Cemetery. Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern is caring for Karen and her family.

OBITUARY
Karen Ann (Dingman) Reynolds, 79 of Malvern, IA, passed away at her home on April 25, 2026, comforted by her loved ones.
Karen was born to Kenneth Dean and Alvina Louise (Heseman) Dingman on January 22, 1947, in Leon, IA, with her older brother Kenneth Dingman Jr, welcoming her to complete their family. She attended Leon school and graduated from Central Decatur (Leon) in 1965. Karen moved to Des Moines, IA, and started working at Iowa Methodist Hospital, where she earned her CNA certificate.
On August 14, 1965, she and Gary Dean Reynolds were married at the Leon Christian Church. They moved to Ottumwa, IA while Gary attended Indian Hills Community College. In June 1967, they moved to Baxter, IA, where they lived for the next 49 years. She worked for Colonial Manor nursing home until they were blessed with daughter Teri Ann and son Eric Dean, then she became a stay-at-home mom. After they were in school, Karen started working at Baxter Community School as a substitute cook.
Karen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and playing cards. She was in a 500-card club for over 20 years. She was very interested in genealogy, collecting information and photos for over 20 years. In 2016, they moved to Malvern, IA, to be closer to their children and family. After the move, they looked forward to family Sunday dinners. Her favorite pastime was doing jigsaw puzzles and spoiling their cats, Patches and Mitzi.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Kenneth in 2011.
Karen is survived by her beloved husband, Gary; daughter Teri and husband Terry, and their sons, Garrett and Gabriel; son Eric and wife Kaylyn, and their daughter Thea; sister-in-law Myra Dingman and son Sean Dingman and wife Renee; close family friend Kip Cederstrom; and other family and friends.
