Kathryn Ann Allspach, 88, of Newton, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held at Bethany Cemetery on Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow at Bea's Place in Baxter, Iowa. Kathryn was born on February 2, 1934, to Elmer and Dorothy (Rader) Klauenberg. She grew up in Baxter where she attended school. Following school, she married Ralph Allspach on April 30, 1949, in Tama. The couple farmed outside of Baxter then moved to Newton. She enjoyed helping with Girl Scout's, attending functions at the Moose Lodge, and playing in various card clubs. Kathryn's hobbies included completing puzzles, sewing, gardening, playing cards, coloring, camping, and playing dominos. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children Peggy Allspach, Byron (Diana) Allspach, Russell Allspach, Cindy (Bob) Swihart, Teresa Baarda, and Ruby (Lee) Olson; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many great-great- grandchildren; sister Barbara Johnson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Ralph.
