Kevin "Clayton" G. Erickson, 64, of McCallsburg, Iowa passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Bethany Lutheran Church in McCallsburg from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Immediately after, his funeral will begin with Pastor Kathy Sandmann officiating. A private family burial will be held at the Warren Township Cemetery in McCallsburg, Iowa. Clayton was born on August 1, 1958, in Iowa City, Iowa to Harold and Marilyn (Noules) Erickson. The family relocated to Zearing, then McCallsburg when Clayton was 10 years old. He attended Ames High School and graduated with the class of 1978. Following school, he began working at Lou's Garage in McCallsburg. He was a staple in the community and could be found helping or visiting with anyone. Clayton was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and was a longtime volunteer on the McCallsburg Fire Department. He enjoyed camping, fishing, watching cartoons and TV, watching fireworks, talking with people, being a steam engineer conductor at the thrasher event annually in Mt. Pleasant, his cats Mona and Mitten's, gardening, and being a cribbage master. Those left to cherish his loving memories are his siblings Cheryl (Martin) Miille of Temecula, CA and Rick (Sheila) Erickson of McCallsburg, IA; nieces and nephews Briana (Joe) Kaus, Michael Miille, Travis (Arealle) Erickson, Tyler "Goob" (Makayla) Erickson, and Brandi Erickson. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and infant sister Lynnay Kay. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
