Michael John Duffy entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 in Des Moines, Iowa. Michael was born on March 8, 1944 in Algona, Iowa. He graduated from Garrigan High School in Algona, Iowa. Michael was a farmer, a bricklayer and ultimately went on to work for the 3M Corporation, from where he retired. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, William and Kathleen (Deneen) Duffy, two brothers Joseph Emmett Duffy and William Sherman Duffy; sister Mary Kay (Jameson) Duffy and daughter Tammy Lynn Duffy. Michael is survived by his sister Geraldine Duffy; brother Patrick Leo Duffy; son Terrance Patrick; daughters Angela Christene and Kellie Jo; 4 grandsons and 4 grand daughters. Michael enjoyed auctions and antiquing. He was a God fearing man who loved his country and family. He lived life on his own terms. His proudest accomplishment was raising his children. A graveside service will be held Friday afternoon, September 13th at 2pm at the Union Cemetery; 1601 West 4th Street N; Newton, Iowa. Repast will follow at 118 21st Street SW; Altoona, Iowa.
