Patricia Lou (Munson) Knutson, 92, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, of natural causes at Zearing Health Care Center in Zearing, Iowa. Memorial services are pending. 

Patricia Munson was born December 14, 1933, to Otis H. and Vera L. (Bushman) Munson on a farm north of Hubbard, Iowa. She was baptized on January 14, 1934, at the Lutheran Tipton Church on Norwegian Lane. Pat was confirmed at the Bethesda Lutheran Church on October 26, 1947, in Ames. She graduated from Ames High School in 1951.

Pat worked for the Ames School District business office for 30 years, retiring in 1999. She was a long-time member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hubbard. She was proud of her Norwegian heritage, loved visiting with her many friends, and enjoyed caring for her flower gardens.

Patricia Knutson is survived by her children Rebecca (Doug) Swinton of Cedar Falls, IA, Joe (Shar) Humphrey of Pleasant Hill, IA, and Tom (Ann) Humphrey of Polk City, IA, seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Humphrey, of Iowa Falls, Iowa; sister Mariam Burdock; and her parents, Otis Munson and Vera and F.H. Wood.

A private memorial and burial service will be held at the McCallsburg Cemetery at a later date.
