Patsy Jess, 86, of Webster City and formerly of Baxter, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Crestview Nursing and Rehab in Webster City, Iowa. Memorial services will be held later this summer. Patsy was born in Newton, Iowa on January 25, 1930 to Oscar and Gladys (Pett) Umbarger. She attended school in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1947. On January 29, 1955 she married Harry Leroy Jess in Newton,IA. To this union three children were born. Patsy worked at Parsons, Milligan Brother's and then ADM until she retired in 1990. She was a member of the Red Hat Club and the Ever Ready Club. Patsy enjoyed helping the ladies at the Congregational United Church of Christ, gardening, birdwatching, crafts, and coffee with friends. Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter Lori (Howard) Isvik; daughter-in-law Vicki Jess, granddaughter Amy Isvik, brothers George and Jack (Pat), sister Colleen Wyatt and many other family members and friends. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, son Dennis, and daughter Sharon. Condolences to the family may be sent to Lori Isvik, 2331 295th Street, Jewell, IA 50130.
