Rose Hayes, 63 of Baxter passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Skiff Medical Center in Newton. Visitation will be on Monday, January 6, 2014 from 5-7 P.M. at the Evangelical Free Church in Baxter. Funeral service will be on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at the Evangelical Free Church in Baxter with Pastor Bucklin officiating. Burial will follow at the Restland Cemetery in Baxter. Rose Ann Hayes was born on November 13, 1950 in Des Moines, IA to Verda and Debbie (Williams) Brightwell. She attended and graduated from Mingo High School in 1970. Rose married Darrel Hayes on October 30, 1970 in Maxwell, Iowa. They relocated to Baxter where they raised their two sons. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Her other hobbies included reading, crocheting, playing puzzle books, and listening to and watching Elvis Presley. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her husband Darrel; son Clayton (Talina) Hayes; 2 granddaughters Jami Gander, and Anjelica Hayes; 3 step-grandchildren Kayla Royce, Sharlee Royce, and Curtis Royce; great-great grandchild Bryleigh Gander; sister Elaine Speelman; brother Melvin Mohler; and many nieces, nephew, and friends. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; son Robbie Hayes; 2 sisters Bertha Devault, and Helen McDaniel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the family. Fredregill Family Funeral Home in Baxter has been entrusted with the care of Rose and her family.
