Sharon Lee Novinger, 64, of Collins, Iowa passed away surrounded by her loving family at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, on Wednesday, November 20, 2019. Per her wishes a private family memorial service and burial in the Evergreen Cemetery in Collins will take place at a later date. Sharon was born in Britt, Iowa on April 19, 1955 to Tony and Minnie Loo (Fish) Bartik. She attended school in Fort Dodge graduated in 1973. She then attended Indiana State University where she earned a bachelor's degree. She married Jim Novinger in Collins on November 25, 1977. The couple farmed and raised livestock on the family farm in Collins. Sharon also worked at Mercy and Frazer Ambulance as an EMT. Sharon was a member of St. Mary's Holy Cross in Elkhart and served as a volunteer for many years on the Collins Fire and Rescue. Sharon enjoyed spending time with her family, watching the cooking channel, taking vacations, loving on her golden retrievers, working as an EMT, and running around her 4 mile block. Those left to cherish her loving memory are her husband Jim Novinger; children Jennifer Novinger, Jamie (Shawn) Golly, and Jace (Cassie) Novinger; grandchildren Brecken, Colton, Cayden, Tailor, Reagyn, Madisyn, Courtney, and Maleah; sister Sue Bartik; brother-in-law Glen (Tracy) Novinger; sisters-in-law Kay (Kip) Henderson, and JoAnne Novinger; many cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law Frank and Eula Maude Novinger; and son Chad. Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care has been entrusted with the care of Sharon and her family.
