Obituary

Sherry Kay Munn was a self-less person, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own. Family meant the world to Sherry, and on August, 1 2017, she passed away at Memorial Southeast surrounded by those who loved her. She was 69 years old. Sherry was born October 18, 1947 in Vinton, Iowa to the late Charles and Mary (Higdon) Lint. She was married June 22, 1968 to Carl (Butch) Munn in Vinton, Iowa who survives her in Houston, Texas. She is also survived by her son Scott Munn (Lesley) of Lexington, Massachusetts; grandsons, Tyler and Spencer Munn; and sisters, Bobbi Williams (Billy) of Houston, Texas, Janie Amendt (Dennis) of Somerset, Wisconsin and Vicki Houk of Missoula, Montana. Many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends will also miss her. Growing-up, Sherry found immense joy in cooking with her mother, family camping trips and adventures on her grandparent's farm. Throughout her life, she found employment caring for others. She attended nursing school, inspired young children as a teacher and shined as an office manager. She was a member of the South Belt Church and through her Lord, she was a constant caregiver. Her greatest pride was seeing her husband, son, daughter in-law, and grandsons prosper. The loss of her love and affection leaves much sorrow behind. A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Niday Funeral Home - Beamer Chapel, with Chaplin Ron Burton officiating. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16, 2018 at the Restland Cemetery in Baxter, Iowa with Pastor Melissa Sternhagen officiating. Service Restland Cemetery Baxter, IA, US, 50028 Baxter, Iowa 50028 11:00 AM - 11:45 AM
