Verna "LaVon" Hunter, 92, died at the Accura Health Care Center of Baxter after a short illness on Tuesday, December 25, 2018. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, many of whom considered her a favorite aunt. She is also survived by one sister, Helen Bucklin of Baxter. LaVon was born on a farm west of Baxter on October 26, 1926. After her marriage to Conrad Hunter in 1943 she lived on a farm near Ira, Iowa until moving to Accura in February of 2018. LaVon is preceded in death by her husband Conrad Hunter, her parents Vern and Lennie Pershall, and by seven siblings: Bessie Patterson, Raymond Parshall, Doris Orr, Betty Jean Millegan, John Pershall, Joyce Lester, and Mary Lou Freland. At LaVon's request no service will be held at this time. A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.
