Zenna L. Faris, 89, of Conrad, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad, Iowa. A private family funeral will be held and she will be buried in the New Providence Cemetery. Zenna was born on August 4, 1931 in Whitten, Iowa to Harvey and Zula (Powers) Smith. She grew up in Whitten and graduated from Whitten High School with the class of 1948. On August 4, 1948 she married Leo Faris and the couple moved to Eldora and then New Providence. Zenna was a member of the Whitten Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing, reading, ceramics, needle work, antique shopping, camping, and fishing. Those left to cherish her memory are her children Kathy (Daryl) Gilmore of Marshalltown, IA and Jim (Gayle) Faris of Hubbard, IA; grandchildren Brett Gilmore, Brant (Lori) Gilmore, Brock (Laura Otto) Gilmore, Amber (Nathan) Wiertzema, and Austin (Amy) Faris; great-grandchildren Taylor (Keith) White, Cole Gilmore, Bo Eggers, Chase Eggers, Stevi Eggers, Madison Wiertzema, Paige Wiertzema, Hailey Faris, and Logan Faris; great-great granddaughter Scarlett White; brother-in-law Gary (Joyce) Faris; sister-in-law Rosemary Wellman; many nieces and nephews. Zenna was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister Noradell, husband Leo, brothers Harvey (Helen), Marvin, and Marlin (Shirley), sister Delma (Charlie) Woodley, brothers-in-law Edward Faris and Robert Wellman, and sister-in-law Mary Faris.
